Meal Time Made Easy class

Meals Time Made Easy
Enrichment Class By Autumn Kizerian
For additional ideas from time to time visit my blog http://www.kizerianisms.blogspot.com/

First 4 steps:
Plan. Take the time to sit down go thru your recipes and your calendar. Find out what will work for you. Pay attention to the days you need quick meals. (Crock pot or Freezer meal days). What meals need the same type of meats? How can I plan them to make my life easier?
Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday

There is a 3 week calendar here. e mail me and I will send you the word doc. I don't know how to post the doc here. I'm still learning.

* Don’t for get leftover days.

Shop. Use your recipes to make a list, Check your pantry and cross out what you have. Having everything on hand makes cooking a lot easier. Especially if you are prepping in advance (Freezer Meals).

Cook. This is where COST comes in. Cook Once Serve Twice. Or even for me this is when the ease comes in. I come home from the store and cook all 5 pounds of ground beef. Personally I cook half in Taco soup seasoning and half in Garlic lemon. If I’m having meatloaf I go ahead and make it then. NEVER make just one, unless you’re using your crock pot. I take my bag of chicken and stick it into the crock pot or I use my favorite 4 meals in 4 minute recipes so I’m ready to go on the assigned day.
Enjoy! If you meat is prepped in advanced it makes cooking a lot easier and takes the guess work out. Or so it does for me.

What meals can you think to use Cost on?
What recipes can you easily double? Spaghetti is one at my house I always double the sauce and then freeze it. (My preferred method is gallon Ziploc).

Tips to know
Don’t forget to plug it in or turn it on!

Most chicken and pork chop recipes take 4-6 hours on low in the crackpot, or 2-3 on high (high is always half the time as low in most crackpots). This also usually equates to one hour at 350 degrees in the oven.

Don't lift the lid to stir, especially if you are cooking on the low setting. Each time you lift the lid, enough heat will escape that the cooking time should be extended by 20 minutes to half an hour. To check progress without lifting the lid, spin the cover until the condensation falls off. Then it's easy to see inside.

· LiquidsUsually liquids may be decreased in slow cooking - about half the recommended amount. Unless the dish contains rice or pasta, one cup of liquid is usually enough.
· You can line the crackpot with an oven cooking bag before placing the food in. This makes clean up a snap. The cooking times are not affected, but the mess stays in the bag rather than on the pot. I usually find these bags on clearance after Thanksgiving or Christmas and stock up then.
· Tenderness of the meat is directly related to the cooking time. A longer cooking time at low will yield a tenderer roast, as long as it is cooked beyond done to the falling apart stage. The difference between a tough piece of meat and a tender one is about 1 hour. When you check your meat for doneness, if it isn't tender, let it cook for another hour and check again.

Crock Pot Meals

4 meals in 4 minutes
You can use chicken breast or pork (even roast for some) for any of these
Each of the following is enough for 6-8 chicken breast or pork chops. You will also need a freezer bag for each.
** Cook on low heat 4-6 hours in your crock pot, bake in the oven at 350 for an hour or grill over medium heat. **
This is a table it's not coming right I'll keep working on it!

Show and Tell Crafters Market

It's over. I had great fun this weekend making new friends. I've been thinking and praying for a while for new friends. My BFF moved this time last year and while she is not that far away I still need someone here in town. I feel like I made several good friends this weekend and best of all we all like to craft! I didn't even have to pay for them! (thanks MaryBeth).

Thanks Crystal and Rochelle for a great craft show. I made some money but, best of all I made friends I look forward to many more fun craft shows with you all!

I didn't take any pictures not that I ever get them loaded but, still. I'm excited for future endevors. I just need a venture capatalist for some more $$ as I have some great prospects on the horizon!

Have a great day.

I'm off to putting away and cleaning this house!

I'm so excited to have new friends!

I have been busy creating vinyl signs. and with some help today putting price tags on over 2,000 bows. I still feel the need to make more. I have decided I like making bows the best. I like my vinyl but, it seems hard to read peoles minds. I know all bows eventually sell.

Anyway! I've been up to my usualy 2 am creating. Tomorrow I set up. I'm taking my plotter so if your in need of some custom vinyl come see me. If not just come see the great stuff. I know my friends Crystal and Roshelle have cute stuff as I'm sure all the other vendors do as well!

Next it's on to my webpage and getting that looking decent. But, I need to clean and paint my house and spent soem quality time with my kids.

The last few days I've been feeling this crafting isn't worth it. Kent says it's a hobby treat it as such and to stop being so upset about it.

Ahh a new perspective has helped!

Hope to see some of you this weekend!

Hoping to get this to post today and not in june!

I tried to post last night but, it was eatten by cyberspace!
Anyway as I was catching up tonight! I found this site http://pinkchristmas.blogspot.com/ I'm excited.
I'm home and off and running. I spent all day Monday and half of Tuesday at a Thinking Maps conference! Now I know how to think.
I taught Achievement days tonight- we talked about service. Then I found this site so of course I had to join in!
I created 3 new Halloween signs with vinyl. I'm so excited to get busy. I also tied about 75 bows (OK I did this at the conference).
life is still keeping me busy!

My post from 7/14 that was posted in June! What's up?

Yes, I am home. I love my bed. Just seeing my bed was nice. I had a great bed to sleep in the past 2 1/2 weeks but, there is nothing like your own bed and shower for that fact!Someone please remindme to stop running my life so close. I got home about 1 in the morning Monday and had to be at a conference at the Wynn hotel at 7am. Yes, I made it and did learning something but, DO I always have to do this to myself? Kent says yes, it's who I am.Then it was off to Costco as our house was food deprived. Okay there is some food mac and cheese but, nothing good like propel the frig was pretty empty. Which is fine with me. I know I'm wierd but, I hate it when my frig is full and you can't see all the stuff in it. I think that may be why I don't like our freezer that much. I'm a visual person so I need to see my stuff. We won't starve and I may figure out how to hook my computer up to the internet. I decided while I was away that I wanted a new laptop. I have yet to find a sponsor for it but, am thinking. My 6th anniversary is soon. I made sure to look at the jewelery counter at Costco tonight. Okay I had actually forgotten about the anniversary, Kent reminded me when I was looking at the jewelery, he's such a gem! haha! All right I'm off to my bed as I have to be back at the Wynn at 7 in the morning. Then it's off to prep for another craft show! No rest of the wicked

Another skin change, kirtland stories

hey I like this skin changing. My dad is still in the hospital so we are still at the lake without a computer! Yesterday was adventureous day. Kent ended it with an evening of fishing so that was fun! Tomorrow we are going to a Tigers Baseball game! Yahoo my favorite thing to do in the summer! Friday I'm going to a craft fair so I'm in heaven! I just wish I was participating! Only a few days left.

We went to Kirtland Ohio on Monday and it was great someday I'll post pictures. a few quick stories. One the missionaries were talking about the earl saints. and Hunter thought he said snakes and started hissing and saying he likes snakes.

For the Rissa story- the tour begins with a video about the saint who lived in Kirtland and it shows when Joseph Smith was tared and feathered. and that murdock twins were there and crying. anyway when we were in another part rissa remembered and told the group about the event again.

She continues to talk about it and was scared to go to bed, scared the bad men would come and get her.

Cute that she understands. We keep telling her no it's okay, it was a long time ago.

got to go get things done!

Still on vacation

We're still on vacation. Since my dad is in the hospital, I think we are going to get up early in the am and drive to Kirtland Ohio and see the sites! I'm excited. It's only a 3 1/2 drive and should be a lot of fun. We are just going for the day!

I'll try to get some pictures to post someday! My dad has his laptop at the hospital, being the nice daughter that I am I took it to him, so I don't have acces to a comptur much now.

We had a great 4th I got to see my cousin Adam I hadn't seen in 4 years that was nice!

Well we're off back out to the lake. I can hear the kids upstairs and need to see what they are in to.

Okay off to bed.

It's 2 am here. Rissa has been up 3 times crying for her Dad! Finally we gave in and called him! I hate to do this as he'll be gone a lot this fall Hunting and she won't be able to call h im. We now see that 5 days is her limit so he will need to ALWAYS be home in 5 days!

Vacation update

So we're still on Vacation.
  • -We've seen Poppy, Yaya and Nana!
  • -We've been to the zoo- Yes, Clarissa got to see the Zebras finally!
  • -We've ridden Poppy's golf cart
  • - The kids have been on a boat ride, played in the sand and in the lake!
  • -We've seen Ke(b)vin and Granny. and Played at the park with them.
  • - Mom went to Grandpa Z's retirement party and the kids stayed with Nana and Poppy!
and the worst part
Poppy got sick and is in the hospital. - We're sad that he is sick
Also Rissa is coughing and appears to be getting sick too, she's never been sick before so it's a whole new experience for her!
She cried for 1/2 an hour on the way home tonight that she needed her Daddy! It was so sad! 5 days is her limit with out her dad. I told her he'd be here in 2 days! She's not happy with that. She wants her Dad to sleep in her bed tonight and so it's not sad. Kent will be here Friday AM/ Thurs. Night so it's not much longer for Daddy's girl to wait.
Hunter- He's just takin it all in. He's been a little wild man but, he's calming down! I will work on getting pictures on a disk tomorrow so I can upload tomorrow night!
Hope you all are having a fun summer. Tomorrow is Laundry day and then we're going to my aunt and uncles for the evening.
